The Doreen trophy, Raymond and his winning team
In the spring of 2007, three Kilmacolm cricket fans decided to try and resurrect the village cricket team.
In the summer of 2007, an extremely successful cricket fun day was held at Birkmyre Park. Following on from this success, there were 3 fixtures arranged for the 2008 season, an overseas tour to Inellan CC, an international tour to Nevill Holt CC and nearer to home a closely fought encounter with Greenock CC 3rd XI. An even more successful Family Day 2008 was held on a sunny August Sunday afternoon. Congratulations to Raymond Pirie and his team for being the first winners of the Doreen Trophy! Many thanks to Gavin, Charles and Rob for organising the cricket, thanks to Lesley for all the backstage admin and again to Julie for a fantastic tea. Definitely now an Annual Event!!
